@flowless I'm not really sure, I just remember it was like 10 or so vhs tapes and this weird controller that connected to the tv via suction cup. and at least one part of it was Salty's Lighthouse

I had something that seems like a forerunner to this when I was a child in the 1930s. there were only four colored buttons but I imagine the concept was entirely the same. the tapes with it weren licensed characters though, just original stuff with the jankiest animation.
Like everything else from my childhood I feel like 50% of the educational content was just warnings to avoid construction sites and never climb into an abandoned refrigerator.

I feel like people think I'm pulling their chain when I constantly bring this up but I swear every cartoon character that I cared about in the 80s took a moment to stare straight down the camera and break the 4th wall like "you know what isn't radical, is climbing into an abandoned refrigerator."
